The mountains are part of Sylvain Giachino and his team’s DNA. He was born and bred in the Alps and has worked there throughout his architectural career. He both knows and cares about the region. Over the last decade he has worked on projects to build various facilities and residential buildings, including major programmes such as Tignespace and Apex in Tignes. He has witnessed significant and extensive changes and developments in how people build and how buildings are integrated into the surrounding nature and landscapes, both of which area the forefront of current concerns.

Throughout this time, however, he has observed that one feature has hardly changed at all, despite being visible to each and every one of us, inhabitants, elected officials and tourists: street furniture.

The Alpine Street Furniture is designed and built from the most noble, locally sourced materials. No artificial materials, such as plastic are used. Wood, steel and concrete ensure the highest quality implementation and durability
The various options available within the same range offer a wide choice. The concrete used comes in various shades, from the lightest which reflect the surrounding icenand snow, through to the darker greys and browns; the finish can also vary from silky smooth to a more textured look, with sloping or flat roofs. The steel used also offers similar alternative colours and finishes, and the Archetype collection composed of wood and metal varies according to the patterning of the interior, exterior and roof cladding.

Like its own Swiss knife, each town council or client can choose the materials, colours and finishes available in the chosen range with a number of additional options: integration of a logo, integrated LED lighting, provision of a defibrillator, inclusion of USB ports and wifi.
